The merger and acquisition data is based on information provided by Capital IQ. The transactions include both private and public target companies from around the world and are not limited by transactions size. Transaction values range from under $1.0 million to over $50.0 billion. We conduct a screening for mergers and acquisitions which have closed in the last twelve months. Transactions involving a bankruptcy, buyback, private placement, or public offering are excluded. The resulting transactions are sorted by Capital IQ's primary industry classifications: Energy, Materials, Industrials, Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples, Healthcare, Financials, Information Technology, Telecommunication Services, and Utilities.
